Charleston Countertops

Countertops in Charleston, SC

Palmetto Surfacing has built and installed countertops for Charleston homes since 1984, downtown and out to West Ashley, James Island, and Johns Island. We cut every slab in our own shop in North Charleston.

Older homes and out-of-square rooms

Plenty of Charleston kitchens have walls that are not straight. We do not cut from a plan. Once your cabinets are in, a technician laser-templates the room itself in about 30 to 60 minutes, then reviews the layout with you on a tablet before anything is cut.

Charleston Countertop FAQ

Yes. We install all over Charleston, including downtown, West Ashley, James Island, and Johns Island.

It depends on how you cook and clean. Near the water we usually point people to nonporous quartz so that salt air has nothing to soak into, but granite and quartzite work too when properly sealed. Quartzite gets you close to the marble look with more durability. We put them side by side for you at the showroom.

Homes by the marsh and harbor live with humidity all year as well as salt that settles on every surface. This climate shapes the materials we recommend for your project. Quartz and Corian are nonporous, so humidity and salt air have nothing to soak into. Granite, marble, and quartzite hold up well if you keep them sealed. Our guide to countertops for coastal homes has more.

Yes. We can tear out and haul away your old countertops. That is a separate visit from the install, so let us know early and we will schedule both.

Call 843-569-1131 to make a showroom appointment and bring your measurements or a sketch. Your sales consultant emails a quote within 48 hours of receiving dimensions. No measurements? We can send a field tech to measure at no charge.
